April 17th: Here are SV updates made to the bottom of the car.
Almost finished now. The S and SV modifications are clearly visible. This extra ducting brings more air up into the engine bay. The two small vents were added with the S and the larger vents on each side were added with the SV.
Another shot of the ducts.
From the rear looking forward. Alan, one of Bobileff's body men, updates his records. Alan has done several Miuras, including two for Joe Sackey: The lime green SV (last SV in the US) and the SV formerly owned by the Shaw of Iran.
All this venting should keep the engine cool. The frame rails have been nicely finished off, with the X braces inside, never to be seen again. Hopefully.
Bobileff welds this thick piece of steel under the rear of the frame. People often try to jack the car up from this point and without this reinforcement a stock frame dents and bends. My frame now has all of the X bracing welded inside so even without this plate it would be much stronger than stock. Still, this is a great addition.
April 26th: All epoxy primered, the frame is done except for a few small details. |
